WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, February 14th, 2020
Winpak is pleased to announce that our Winpak Portion Packaging
(WPP) location in Toronto is now a Zero Landfill facility. In December
2019, with persistent efforts and ingenuity, WPP was able to successfully
divert all its waste from going to landfill. This entailed recycling and
reusing almost 90% of their waste and sending the remaining percentage to a
Waste-to-Energy facility.
“We have a very knowledgeable management team and committed employees who keep working on improving our internal recycling programs and waste reduction”, said Bob Taylor, Plant Manager, WPP Toronto. “Although this is a huge accomplishment for us, and we should all feel very proud, we will keep working on improving our internal recycling programs and waste reduction”.
