Production Supervisor - Nights
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting
the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will supervise employees in
the Production Department in order to meet daily operational objectives and
standards efficiently. This will include maintaining a high standard of
production quality and safety standards on a daily basis.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To
ensure compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
- To
ensure the Production Department operates at maximum efficiency, minimum
down time producing the highest quality packaging at lowest possible cost.
- Responsible
for investigating and resolving any food packaging safety problems
identified and reported by other employees and also responsible for
notifying plant management of same.
- To
direct, train, develop and discipline employees.
- Perform
administrative duties including performance reviews, attendance calendars,
time cards, disciplinary actions, training documentation, etc
- Prepare
daily production reports that include shift production, downtime,
overtime, scrap levels, major problems and corrective action.
- Responsible
for ensuring that all employees follow company GMP, sanitation,
pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and
policies.
- Troubleshooting
production problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
- To maintain
effective and productive relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates
and other departments.
- Communicate
relevant information to Production Manager so that realistic manpower
requirements and work schedules are established.
- To make
sure inventory levels of all resin materials in gaylords have been
correctly identified and stored in the regrind area.
- To
communicate with all employees on any changes ie. Procedures, schedules,
safety rules.
- To
ensure employees are at their work stations at the start of shift.
- Utilize
management philosophies of IM, ATS, SPC, and project team approach in all
aspects of the job related activities.
- In the
incumbents absence these responsibilities will be transferred to another
Production Supervisor or Lead Operator.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be trained
in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs,
chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
Must be
competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five-plus years experience in a manufacturing
environment with familiarity of operations management
- Mechanical Ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical Skills
- Excellent computer skills
EDUCATION:
A high school diploma is required
