Polypropylene Recycling Coalition

Polypropylene Recycling Coalition

Winpak Joins the Polypropylene Recycling Coalition

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, July 8th, 2020

As part of Winpak’s mission and focus on Sustainability, our employees and industry partners are fully engaged in creating innovative approaches to positively impact the economic, social and environmental aspects of our products and services.

Winpak produces essential rigid and flexible packaging into a variety of food, beverage and healthcare markets. Polypropylene (PP) is one of the key raw materials for many packaging innovations supplied by Winpak and we strongly support an advanced circular economy for PP packaging to increase access to post consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene resins. That is why Winpak is pleased to be part of the newly launched Polypropylene Recycling Coalition in conjunction with The Recycling Partnership and value chain partners.

The Coalition is an industry-wide collaboration aimed at improvements to polypropylene recycling to increase access, recovery and end markets usage.

“Winpak is proud to be a founding member of the Coalition,” states Phillip Crowder, Director, Corporate Sustainability.  “Being part of this group that represents all facets of the value chain including resin suppliers, converters, key brands, retailers, recyclers, and industry associations is both exciting and hopeful.”
