Material Handler - Night Shift 7pm to 7am

Purpose:
Service the production lines, by supplying
or removing materials, in a timely manner to ensure no downtime is incurred and
inventory remains accurate.
Responsibilities:
Understand, and verify the material requirements for the assigned jobs.
Obtain material from the warehouse directly or through requisitions to the remote warehouse.
Prepare material for use in production including cleaning, unwrapping, identifying, etc.
Deliver material to machines in a timely and safe manner.
Monitor machines and supply material as needed to eliminate downtime.
Record/document inspections of materials as required, accurately, neatly, and legibly.
Record/document usage and assignment of all materials.
Maintain accurate inventory row tags.
Retrieve carts, unused material, rejected material, and other items as needed.
Properly wrap, weigh, and identify any unused or rejected materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times throughout the shift..
Complete and maintain forklift operator certification
Operate/drive forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
Record/document forklift inspections each shift.
Report immediately, to your supervisor, safety problems, process problems, machine problems, material problems, tooling problems, quality problems or any items that may affect the manufacturing system.
Organize time so as to minimize downtime, maximize production, and perform cleaning, inspections, and data recordings within the work shift.
Use/wear all required safety devices and comply with all safety regulations and policies.
Adhere to all personal clothing, cleanliness and hair covering requirements.
Responsible for reporting food packaging safety problems to plant management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
In the incumbents absence these responsibilities will be transferred to another Material Handler.
Position
Requirements:
Must be trained
in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs,
chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
Must be competent
to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities
Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication skills
Basic math skills.
Basic computer skills.
Physical:
Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs regularly.
Walking/standing approximately 12 hours per day.
Climbing stairs regularly, climbing ladders
regularly.
Bending/stooping regularly.
Kneeling, crawling rarely.
