Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Purpose:

Manage Maintenance Department activity to ensure that objectives as they pertain to safety, quality, and efficiency are achieved.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PM program to improve overall plant efficiency and reliability goals. 
  • Oversee the maintenance department to ensure the tooling, equipment, building and grounds are properly maintained and that the department has a competent and effective work force.
  • Recommend new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment that are identified as cost reduction opportunities. 
  • Ensure tooling changeovers are completed safely, with minimal amount of downtime and consistently so the process is stable and reliable. 
  • Ensures safe working environment and procedures are in place and followed. 
  • Utilize management philosophies of AIB and ISO in all aspects of job-related activity.
  • Manage departmental expense spending within prescribed budgets. 
  • Facilitate completion of identified departmental goals per SCH Goals & Objectives Quarterly Update.
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving any food packaging safety problems identified and reported by other employees and also responsible for notifying plant management of same.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees follow company GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • In the incumbent’s absence these responsibilities will be transferred to the Plant Manager.

 

Position Requirements:

            Experience and Education:

  • Supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. 

  • Engineering project management experience.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree (experience can substitute for BS).
