Senior Market Product Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Market Product Manager is responsible for leading marketing
efforts for product lines and market focus areas, developing business
strategies and tactics that promote the growth of new and target product lines,
enhance margins and increase market share. The position would be responsible for generating
leads to develop new business, acquire new customers and enter adjacent and new
market segments.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead for developing and implementing strategies to drive product line
profitability, volume, mix, market share improvement and price. This
includes:
Manage profit margins as per product category and customer
acquisition strategy.
Drive pricing strategy to include Winpak value proposition, 3 C
(Company, Competition and Customer) analysis and market positioning
(segmenting, targeting and positioning).
Collaborate with the Winpak Technical Product Managers to support
market & product development projects from concept to full commercialization
and facilitate exchange of business & technical requirements with the
customer.
Lead evaluation of new business development opportunities with other
Winpak business units and suppliers, capital investment and total
packaging solutions (ex. Cup/ Lidding/ Filling equipment).
Support Packaging trade shows and develop product marketing
brochures and literature to market & advertise product lines to customers.
Conduct analysis of Winpak’s competitor strategy and positioning
for relevant product lines and market areas.
Support Technical Product Managers in developing customer
Innovation/Ideation sessions.
Lead pricing strategy and margin management for customer-based RFP’s,
RFQ’s and Online Auction (e Auction). Collaborate with the sales team and other
Winpak divisions (Winpak Lane, Heat Seal, Films, Control Group, etc.) to
provide pricing proposals and scenario analysis and defend/ win business
volume.
Develop digital marketing strategy to support pre-sales activities
for new product platforms.
Train sales team with assistance of Technical Product Manager and 3rd
party SME (supplier, industry expert)
Develop new product videos/ marketing literature for Winpak web
site, Packaging Shows (ex. Pack Expo) and social media marketing blitz
Effectively manage all assigned product lines to achieve company
goals and objectives. This includes:
Track and forecast product demand.
Analyze product cost and profitability.
Manage product inventory.
Initiate, monitor, and/or communicate product design characteristics,
changes, and issues.
Initiate, monitor, and/or communicate product manufacturing
changes and issues.
Assist in the resolution of product quality issues, collaborate
internally and externally to continuously improve products.
Provide
support to the Field Sales Group and Executive Management. This includes:
Market
research and analysis
Creating and
assisting in the creation of customer proposals, presentations, supply agreements and other communication materials
Identifying
market needs and opportunities to expand the company’s product line
offering.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to collaborate with cross
functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Customer
Service)
Understanding of business principles
including marketing and finance is required.
Analytical thinking, strong
communication and listening skills required.
Proficiency in using computers and ERP software (SAP/Infor/Epicor/Oracle); comprehensive command of MS Word, MS Excel, MS
PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer required.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Minimum of ten years of experience in a
product management, marketing, sales, technical management position. Previous
experience managing products/ markets and communicating directly with
customers is highly desired.
Minimum of five years of experience in
the packaging industry with primary packaging (rigid or flexible), Chemicals/Petrochemicals and/or food/ beverage/ medical industry
is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA in Marketing preferred
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Position works mostly in an office environment,
climate-controlled environment, moderate to low noise level. Up to 30% travel
may be required to manufacturing plants, prospect and customer sites, trade
shows, and other.
