Senior Cost Accountant
Responsible of reviewing and explaining production
variances to management, inventory valuation and accuracy, maintaining item
standards and setting work center rates.
Responsabilities
- Weekly, monthly, quarterly and year to date production variance
explanations and production related reports;
- Weekly production variance entries : Doctoring entries and
correcting entries;
- Monthly, quarterly and year to date direct labour spending
variance analysis for each department;
- Supervise and coordinate raw material SPC revisions;
- Review purchase price variances (PPV), invoice cost versus
standard product cost for inventory items;
- Set work center rates;
- Maintain work center parameters;
- Review inventory revaluations due to product structure changes
and variation of purchase price.
- Budget earned reconciliation, flex budget entry, volume variance
entry, pre-production entry and various other month end entries;
- Expense analysis for Repairs & Maintenance, Tooling and
supplies (make correcting entries where necessary);
- Review all inventory adjustments;
- Coordinate inventory ink counts;
- Execute all other duties as required by his superior;
- Supervise one cost accountant.
Qualifications
- University degree in an appropriate field of expertise;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (packaging an asset);
- CPA -CMA professional designation;
- Experience in supervision of subordinate employees;
- Strong computer skills (EXCEL) and knowledge of ERP environments;
- Strong organization skills and management of simultaneous files;
- Demonstrate proactive management skills;
- Demonstrate strong communication (oral and written) and leadership skills;
- Bilingualism (French/English) is essential.
