Production Supervisor-Nights

Purpose:

To supervise employees in the Production Department in order to meet operational objectives and standards while meeting production quality and safety standards on a daily basis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Production Department operates at maximum efficiency, minimum down time producing the highest quality packaging at lowest possible cost.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiencies; by maximizing production utilization, reducing down time, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving any food packaging safety problems identified and reported by other employees and also responsible for notifying plant management of same.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of employees, including scheduling, assignment of work, accurately reporting time and attendance records, coaching, correcting and evaluating job performance.
  • Maintain the training schedules of new employees to see that they progress at a steady level to achieve our training goals
  • Prepare daily production reports that include shift production, downtime, overtime, scrap levels, major problems and corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot production problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Maintain effective and productive relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates and other departments.
  • Communicate relevant information to Plant Manager so that realistic manpower requirements and work schedules are established.
  • Ensure that inventory procedures for all packaging and raw materials are being followed.
  • Communicate with all employees on any changes for example: Procedures, schedules, safety rules.
  • Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Five-plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with familiarity of operations management.
  • Supervisory Experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Analytical Skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Mechanical Ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
  • Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities.
