Printing Supervisor
Position Summary
Winpak Films, Inc., located 30 miles south of
Atlanta, Ga is looking for a Printing Supervisor. Reporting to the Printing Manager, the
Printing Press Supervisor provides management and technical support to the Printing
Department by continually developing and auditing the flexographic printing
process and the skills of the department. The Printing Press Supervisor is
responsible for the safe and effective operation of the Printing Press and Ink
room.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works
safely and promotes safe work practices amongst all employees.
- Provides
leadership to implement plans for continuous improvement of department
performance in the areas of safety, quality, order completion,
productivity, waste, labor, and housekeeping with the goal of improving
the performance of Winpak Films.
- Works
with Sales, Customer Service, and Customer to meet all needs.
- Promotes
teamwork, cooperation, and effective communications among the crews and
within the company. Interacts with
all Winpak employees in a professional manner. Works with all members of the Winpak
management team to improve the overall performance of the Company.
- Manages
the housekeeping of all related areas to printing.
- Shows
common courtesy and respect for other members of the team.
- Develops
and improves production systems to ensure consistent product quality.
- Routinely
assess and optimizes department organization to meet the needs of the
business.
- Monitors
variances to manufacturing standards and takes effective action to
constantly minimize variance to standard.
- Reports
all safety hazards immediately to Printing Manager or Safety Manager.
- Reports
all machine problems immediately to Printing Manager and/or
maintenance.
- Reads
all order paperwork thoroughly, ensuring that all special instructions are
followed carefully.
- Sets
performance standards, procedures, rules and regulations as necessary to
inform all personnel what standards are required to meet the overall goals
and objectives.
- Ensures
Paired Safety Audits are being performed.
- Ensures
that all procedures are followed.
- Trains
and evaluates all employees under his/her supervision.
- Sets
performance standards, procedures, rules and regulations as necessary to
inform all personnel what standards are required to meet the overall goals
and objectives.
- Makes
sure all production paperwork is neat and correct for proper production
reporting.
- Problem
solves issues on machine.
- Ensures
that each shift has proper leadership so that the plant can efficiently
operate without disruption.
- Trains
all personal in printing in the proper care of Anilox Rollers, Sleeves,
and machinery.
- Maintains
production standards and ensures performance for safety, quality, order
completion, productivity, waste, staffing levels, and housekeeping.
- Measures and reports progress against
budgets, outside standards, and historical data as appropriate.
- Monitors
raw materials and keeps adequate supply.
- Monitors
process, noting any significant changes.
- Participates
as a team member in the specification, installation, and commissioning of
new equipment, and improvement to existing equipment.
- Performs
other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years printing working experience.
- 5 years of on hand press experience and 5 years of supervision/ management experience.
Experience & Education:
- AA degree or equivalent experience; BS in management or related field a plus.
- High school diploma; BS degree preferred.
