Print Press Operator


Operate and troubleshoot printing equipment to achieve minimal downtime, minimal loss, high efficiency, and high quality output.


• Read, understand, and verify the requirements for the assigned job including product specification, material requirements, product packaging, labeling, palletizing, etc.
• Perform line clearance, print job set-up, and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor process and print quality. Make adjustments as needed to maintain quality output.
• Inspect product on a regular basis as determined by work instructions and quality requirements, verifying the product is within specification.
• Record/document inspections of product, material usage, downtime causes, repairs, and all other information as required, accurately, neatly, and legibly.
• Respond to Print Feeders concerning product questions in a timely manner to reduce downtime and minimize production of defective product.
• Report immediately, to your supervisor, safety problems, machine problems, material problems, quality problems or any items that may affect the manufacturing system.
• Organize time so as to minimize downtime, maximize production, and perform cleaning, inspections, and data recordings within the work shift.
• Cover the Print Feeder responsibilities during their break time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times throughout the shift.
• Use/wear all required safety devices and comply with all safety regulations and policies.
• Adhere to all personal clothing, cleanliness and hair covering requirements.
• Responsible for reporting food packaging safety problems to plant management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• In the incumbents absence these responsibilities will be transferred to another Print Operator.

Position Requirements:

Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.
Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a print department.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
