Payroll Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

 Reporting to the Payroll/Benefits Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurate administration of all payroll related functions

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
Execute Time and Attendance processing by validating employee worked hours and interface with payroll
Perform compliance activities for unclaimed property such as payroll checks/W-2 Forms
Process accurate and timely Quarterly and Year-end reporting
Reconcile monthly payroll G/L accounts & prepare journal entry when applicable
Assist with compliance reporting and audits as requested
Maintain employee records by entering annual/progression rate increases, 3rd Party Sick Pay, HSA annual employer contributions, LOA/FMLA adjustment to employee’s pay as needed, etc.
Train Supervisors on time & attendance administration
Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries
Assist in revising/updating policy and procedures documentation related to payroll processes
Prepare and generate weekly/monthly/ annual management reports
Other duties and projects as assigned
In the incumbent’s absence, these duties will be reassigned to the Payroll/Benefits Supervisor

SPECIAL QUALIFICATION:


Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices
Strong knowledge of Federal and State regulations
Solid Proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of Word and Outlook
Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to demonstrate solid logic, detailed analysis, attention to detail, alertness, and sense of urgency on a regular basis
Requires good follow-up, accuracy and record keeping skills
Ability to perform all duties with minimal supervision
Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs
Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:


Minimum 3 to 5 years payroll processing experience
Ultimate/UKG experience preferred but not required
2 to 3 years of accounting experience
The position requires Associates Degree with related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
