Winpak Ltd., a public company, operates ten production facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico, with its head office located in Winnipeg. Continued growth in sales has positioned the Company as one of the leaders in the North American market for the supply of flexible and rigid plastic packaging. Winpak's location in Winnipeg, Manitoba is currently searching to fill the position of: Material Handler.

Position Objective:

Reporting to the Materials Flow Supervisor, the Material Handler is reponsible to safely and effectively move material throughout the plant to ensure production can continure in an organized and uniterrupted manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Maintain the raw material and finished goods inventory in an orderly and organized manner to effectively support the production and sales processes.  -Ensure all goods are properly identified to expedite the order picking process..
-Perform regular inventory counts as directed.  Immediately advise superior of potential raw material outages that could impact plant production.
-Perform pre-shift equipment inspections, including adjusting battery water levels as necessary. Safely operate all material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet stackers, and stretch wrappers.  Provide clear and precise explanations of equipment malfunctions to the maintenance or subcontracted repair personnel. 
-Perform daily housekeeping duties to ensure the warehouse area is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion at all times.
-Ensure the safe and effective disposal of all plant waste.  Coordinate the pick-up of waste with external contractors.
-Perform monthly rack inspection.  Immediately notify maintenance of any unsafe or dangerous situations within the warehouse and, if necessary, advise the Plant Manager if additional support is required to correct the situation.
-Responsible for keeping current on all plant communications including, but not restricted to, Emails, Log Books, Bulletin Boards and Plant Communications Binder.
-Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 standards.
-Perform other duties as assigned.


-Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
-Certified forklift license, experience with various types of forklifts and operate in a safe and professional manner
-Able to work with minimal supervision and play an active role as a member of the American Biaxis team.
-Previous work-related experience is preferred
-Good organizational and record keeping skills
-Proficient in the use of computer applications relating to inventory management, shipping and receiving.
