Material Handler - Southern California

Working in the warehouse, reporting to the Production Control Supervisor, the Material Handler will coordinate and expedite the flow of work orders and materials within or between work centers and departments verifying the accuracy of the movements of work orders according to the production schedule.

High School diploma/GED required.
3+ years working in a warehouse environment, preferably with machine parts and assemblies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Attention to detail and a results-driven approach
  • Proficient people skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Working knowledge of ERP system
  • Must possess basic math skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong ability to interact in cross-function setting
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented
  • Ability to read/understand work orders, product descriptions, inventories, and product labels

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
  • Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Confer with department leads and supervisors to coordinate production activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Record production data consumption of raw materials.
  • Facilitating flow of materials between various departments and parties.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of warehouse.
  • Following established guidelines, instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following Company standards and procedures and complying with Winpak policies.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance and excellent punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands regularly to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and equipment. The employee is required to both see and hear.  The employee must be able to walk, sit, and stand. The employee occasionally lifts to 50 lbs., and occasionally kneels and bends. 

Work Environment:

The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
