Mac Operator
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Graphics Supervisor, the Mac Operator is responsible to perform file set up and manipulation, and or file creation, according to customer supplied specifications, in an efficient and timely manner and perform customer service interaction when necessary.
- Liaise with outside graphic designers or customers to ensure conceptual or base art is faithfully reproduced to customer specifications.
- Work with Graphic Team to ensure customer manufacturing and governmental requirements are met.
- Complete art file manipulation in a timely manner, accurate record keeping of billable hours, and completion of art purchase orders.
- Answer technical questions from internal/external customers.
- Follow up with internal/external customers questions regarding supplied files.
- Maintain good Macintosh operator skills as well as ensure those skills are kept up-to-date with the latest software and hardware technology.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company. Interact with all levels of the operations in support of Winpak’s TQI and Lean programs.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Successfully completed minimum 1-year post secondary graphic arts program with formal training in printing/graphics.
- Proven ability in a graphic arts environment with extensive knowledge of graphic software and hardware as well as knowledgeable in packaging machine blueprint reading.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/scheduling environment; experience in packaging and or wide -web Flexo printing is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and under minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.
