Learning and Development Coordinator

Winpak Ltd., a public company, operates ten production facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico, with its head office located in Winnipeg. Continued growth in sales has positioned the Company as one of the leaders in the North American market for the supply of flexible and rigid plastic packaging. Winpak's location in Winnipeg, Manitoba is currently searching to fill the position of: Learning and Development Coordinator.

THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Learning and Development Supervisor the Learning & Development Coordinator provides support in the areas of learning and development, and is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of new and existing programs supporting employee development. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

Coordinate, facilitate and maintain the organizations orientation program for new employees that includes full cycle onboarding, new hire checklists, scheduling and plant tours.

Responsible for the administration and maintenance of learning management system, including tracking of training and ensure it adheres to company policy and procedures.

Facilitate and deliver training programs internally and assist Learning and Development Supervisor with training development.

Coordinate requests to attend external courses and conferences which involves follow up on approvals and registrations.

Responsible for updating and maintaining Company intranet as it relates to training.

Promote Winpak as an employer of choice and attend various career fairs based on the needs of the business.

Partner with stakeholders in identifying training needs and researches/recommends training and development programs and activities that are in-line with the overall needs.

Provide guidance to departmental managers and supervisors to identify suitable internal trainers and assists Learning and Development Supervisor in developing training skills to ensure optimal performance.

Responsible for researching and working with government agencies and accounting department regarding training grant monies and track all internal and external training for Winpak to benefit from the various grants.

Assist with sourcing and recommend the selection of external training consultants and contractors as needed.

Maintain accurate and detailed training records and provide participants with feedback opportunities.

Responsible for the maintenance and support of the Winpak Educational Library.

Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company.  Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpak’s TQI Program.

Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.

Maintain up to date knowledge of best practices and industry trends as it relates to areas of responsibility.

Perform other duties to support the human resources team (including HR Administrator coverage) with a focus on customer service.
Develop trainer materials including lesson plans, user materials and training guides.

Manage logistics for training sessions including scheduling, catering, venue setup, follow up.

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Education, HR or related field.
1 to 3 years’ experience in the field of adult education, training, learning systems.
Knowledge of adult education theories and techniques including instructional design, curriculum, development, and program evaluation.
Excellent knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Ability to deal with all levels of the organization and work in a team environment.
Proven TQI skills, strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal & written).
