Laminating: General Production
Winpak Ltd., a public company, operates ten production facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico, with its head office located in Winnipeg. Continued growth in sales has positioned the Company as one of the leaders in the North American market for the supply of flexible and rigid plastic packaging. Winpak's location in Winnipeg, Manitoba is current searching to fill the position of: Laminating: General Production
Position objective:
Reporting to the Laminating Supervisor, the General Production position must assist in the safe operation of the Laminating department. The General Production assistant must also be able to use the core cutter, mix glue, print pick list, operate walkie units and perform general maintenance. Responsible to aid the Laminating department in staging and preparing as much in advance to assist in laminating machines run efficiency. Perform safety inspections, put glue away as well as other duties assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Stage material for upcoming orders, make glue, recycle solvent.
Assist in the training of new employees to ensure they are aware of the safe operation of all equipment within the department.
Ensure all equipment is used in a safe and effective manner.
Ensure all paperwork and line reporting is completed correctly. Operate lift truck equipment when required.
Maintain housekeeping at a level as outlined by the Company.
Perform special projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and company. Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpak's TQI program.
Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
Maintain the inventory of consumable items within the department.
Prepare tooling for upcoming orders.
Follow the Standard Operating Procedures outlined by the company.
Perform Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Manufacturing environment preferred.
Pallet jack experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 22Kg.
Good aptitude for machines.
Computer literate (i.e. knowledgeable in Microsoft Office).
Able to follow instruction with minimal supervision.
Legible handwriting.
Able to work rotating shifts (Days, Nights, Afternoons).
Willing to work in a team environment.
