Laminating: Assistant


Reporting to the Laminating Supervisor, the Assistant is responsible for assisting in the safe operation of the laminator such that the quality, kilogram/hour outputs, and percentage scrap are maintained. The Assistant is expected, over a period of time, to develop skills with an objective to enable him/her to become an Operator.


-Assist the Operators with the preparation of orders for the shift to minimize the amount of non-productive time and production scrap.
-Assist the Operators with the running of the laminating machine with emphasis placed on the manual aspects associated with the operation of the machine.
-Assist with both the simple and regular routine maintenance on the machines.
-Operate the laminators for short periods in order to facilitate absenteeism and coffee and lunch breaks.
-Operate forklift equipment.
-Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company. Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpak's TQI program.
-Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
-Perform other duties as assigned.


-Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
-Good aptitude for machines.
-Previous related work experience is preferred.
-Other combinations of education, experience, knowledge, and skills will be considered.
-Must be able to work rotating shifts (Days, Nights, Afternoons).
