THE POSITION:

Located in Alberta or British Columbia region, the Field Service Representative will be responsible for conducting field evaluations, investigating customer complaints and troubleshoot to develop economical solutions to enhance packaging material performance and customer processes. The Field Service Representative will have the necessary mechanical skills and specialty experience with plastic packaging materials in a wide range of applications related to food and medical applications. 

  • Home Office (within the assigned region)
  • Extensive Travel Required
  • Must have own vehicle

WHAT YOU WILL DO:


Visit customer in order to evaluate packaging material performance and develop action plans in order to communicate material, equipment or processing opportunities to customers and/or Winpak personnel.

As part of customer visitation protocols, detailed package audits will be conducted to ensure ongoing material and packaging equipment performance levels are maintained at an optimum level consistent with Winpak's high quality standards.

Promote the development of a safe working environment and respect all customer protocols governing the handling of food or medical products.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Technical diploma or post-secondary education in a mechanical or technical field required.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in support of customer needs.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to deal with all levels of an organization, across all business units.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook to provide a detailed trip report on each customer visit.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years experience with food packaging equipment in a technical/mechanical capacity.
  • Working knowledge related to vacuum packaging equipment, food processing or film skills. 
  • Some knowledge on thermoform packaging machines like Multivac, PowerPak, Reiser and Ulma.
  • Understand the basic concepts of perishable food protocols as they relate to the packaging processes especially in the meat industry.
  • Working knowledge of packaging equipment including vacuum, gas flush and other related packaging equipment.
