Environment, Health & Safety Coordinator

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
American Biaxis Inc. located at 150 Saulteaux Crescent is looking for a EHSC Coordinator reporting to the Process Manager. The EHSC Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining all health and safety, food safety, quality programs, and corporate environment initiatives assuring compliance with all local, Provincial, and Federally legislated requirements.  The EHSC Coordinator will create and maintain policies and procedures related to the above areas and provide the necessary support to ensure the maintenance of the programs.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Promote safety in all company activities, working collaboratively in the design, documentation, training, and execution of tasks to ensure they are carried out safely
-Develop Safety improvement plans, track KPI’s, develop and maintain safety audits
-Communicate corporate environmental objectives and document metrics
-Design, document and implement programs to meet environmental objectives
-Report, internally and externally, on environmental performance
-Responsible to implement, track, improve upon the corporate environmental performance
-Participate in the maintenance of the Quality Management System
-Coordinate the food safety program ensuring the company premises and activities do not create risk to the food system
-Coordinate customer food safety compliance audits
-Develop and implement training programs for above topics
-Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:
-Several years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.  Experience with rotating machinery, high temperature and cutting equipment an asset.
-Excellent working knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety regulations, or similar.
-Experience with ISO Management Standards (Quality, environmental, safety, etc).
-Fully competent in the following: 
-Create robust data collection systems
-Process data from a variety of sources
-Document data in context for future reference
-Identify trends and anomalies
-Communicate the above to support evidence-based decision making.
-Strong inter-personal and excellent written and oral communication skills.  Must be able to solicit input from, and deliver information to, stakeholders at all levels:  senior corporate management, peers in ABI management and line operations executing the tasks.
-Well organized and capable of working with a minimum of supervision in a fast-paced team environment.  The ability to take on relevant tasks from and share out responsibilities to the team
