Buyer - Purchasing

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Purchasing, the Buyer will be responsible to procure materials, goods, and services consistent with internal customer needs while best optimizing overall value as it relates to quality, delivery, price, and service.  They will also support organizational and departmental goals, objectives, and improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supply Chain Management designation / enrollment or equivalent in business related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in Purchasing, Inventory Control, or Customer Service related function, preferably in a Manufacturing / MRP environment.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of the organization as well as external supply sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, prioritize tasks as necessary, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to set individual and team related goals and work toward successful achievement.
  • Knowledge and training in ISO, SQF, Kaizan, and Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
  • Other combinations of education, experience, knowledge, and skills will be considered.
