Procter & Gamble Pringles® Potato Chip Packaging
In 2001 Procter & Gamble launched a brand extension of their popular Pringles®
potato chip. The package was a rigid plastic portion controlled custom container with
a unique shape designed to match the unique shape of the Pringles® chip. Winpak was
one of several suppliers chosen to collaborate on the design and development of the
package.
The unique shape of the package not only provided protection of the fragile chips
inside, but also gave P&G brand awareness. The barrier materials used on the container
and lid help keep the product inside fresh.
Winpak staff worked closely with P&G and other suppliers throughout the
development process. The
product launch was an award winning success and Winpak is proud to continue supplying
Procter & Gamble with rigid barrier containers and flexible lids.
A History of Success
