Introduction to Winpak
Winpak Ltd. was incorporated under the Canada Corporations Act by Letters Patent dated
September 29, 1975 and was continued under the Canada Business Corporations Act by
Articles of Continuance dated November 9, 1976. Restated Articles of Incorporation were
filed pursuant to the Canada Business Corporations Act on July 28, 1986.
The development of Winpak from its inception as a single company in 1976 until the
present day has been accomplished through organic growth and acquisitions. The Company
developed three streams of packaging technology as three business units: flexible
materials, rigid packaging and lidding materials, and machines that employ the Company's
packaging materials.
The Company seeks to be of sufficient size, while retaining its agility, to ensure
customers recognize Winpak as a leading market participant with services and product
quality equal to or better than other market participants.
On January 1, 2004, the Company adopted the U.S. dollar as its reporting currency,
effective for financial statement reporting purposes as of January 1, 1999. Accordingly,
currency values in reporting information forms are presented in U.S. dollars, unless
otherwise specified.
